Key Information

Established, reliable, and versatile. It feels like a place that has been running for a long time and knows what it’s doing — not flashy, not rough, just solid.

A buffet breakfast is served daily. The property has two restaurants and three bars — a scale that belongs to a hotel, which is more or less what this is. WiFi and free parking are available.

Accommodation spans the full range: beach huts (shared bathrooms, fans) to suites with private bathrooms, AC, and balconies.

The critical functional detail: paved paths and accessible rooms make this the only property in this guide with confirmed wheelchair access. A minor fact if you don’t need it; essential if you do.

Aqua Sun sits 35km south of Taba, at the edge of the Ras Abu Galum nature reserve. Directly across the road is Castle Zaman, a medieval-style stone fortress built on a hilltop — a strange and specific view that distinguishes this stretch of coast from anywhere else in Sinai. The beach here is coral-rich and the reef starts close to shore.

The property is split: waterfront huts on the beach side, solid stone-built rooms and suites set back slightly. Different budgets and different thresholds for comfort, all in the same place.

Morning: breakfast at the buffet, then the beach and reef. The coral starts close to shore. Afternoon: walk across the road to Castle Zaman, which serves lunch and has a view across four countries from its battlements.

Evening: back to the property for dinner at one of the restaurants. The hut guests and suite guests usually end up at the same bar.

Hesham Nessim owns and runs Aqua Sun with a traditional hotelier’s discipline. He is known for resilience — in 2012 he refused to pay ransom to Bedouin occupiers who had taken the property. He got it back. The management style is firm and operational rather than personal.

This is not a camp where the owner sits with guests at the fire. It is a property that runs professionally, with concierge services and organized excursions.

Multi-generational families · Travelers with mobility needs · Groups with mixed comfort preferences

Wheelchair accessibility — paved paths and accessible rooms, confirmed. Unique in this guide and in the region. Castle Zaman — a 350-meter walk from the front door. Lunch on the battlements with a view of Egypt, Israel, Jordan, and Saudi Arabia simultaneously. Group versatility — huts and suites under one roof. One booking, different comfort levels for different people.
