Basata Eco-lodge
Built in 1987, it began as a single hut on a pristine sandy beach nestled between two mountain arms.
Today, it features chalets designed by world-renowned eco-architects and huts constructed with bamboo and Bedouin ingenuity.
It was built and is operated by a talented Egyptian engineer and his German-Egyptian wife.
The beach boasts glittering yellow sand that sparkles with the waves, and the crystal-clear water is home to nearby coral islands.
As with the entire Aqaba region, it is teeming with life. Occasionally, a swarm of fish leaps out of the water, chased by a dolphin silhouetted against the rising sun.
